It's the Word Love

” Yet the Lord your God turned a curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loved you.”

                                                                    -Deuteronomy 23: 5 

” Do not lose heart, or be afraid, or panic, or be in dread of them; for it is the Lord your God who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.”

                                                                       -Deuteronomy 20:3

” Be careful that you do not entertain a mean thought.”

“It is you that the Lord has chosen out of all the peoples on earth to be his people, his treasured possession.” 

                                                   -Deuteronomy 14: 2

” For it is your own eyes that have seen every great deed that the Lord did.”

                                                                         -Deuteronomy 11:7

” So now O Israel, what does the Lord, your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God,to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with  all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His decrees that I am commanding you today for your own well being.”

                                                                          -Deuteronomy 10: 12 

I think that the most important words in this verse is “for your own well being.” Sometimes it is easy to look at everything that we can’t do as Christians, when God is really doing what is best for his children.

Today I am especially thankful for ALL service men and women of the past, present and future. I think of you and your families every day and pray for your safety. Happy Memorial day!

” One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

” For you are a people holy to the Lord your God, the Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on earth to be his people, his treasured possessions.”

                                                                           -Deuteronomy 7:6

 I know that at least for me, at this stage in my life (the college years) it has been quite a challenge and a struggle to put God first. This verse really speaks to me because it reminds me what an honor and a blessing it really is to be chosen to serve

“You shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.”

                                                                       -Deuteronomy 6:5
